Live or work in the loop? Whether driving or walking, bridge lifting season can be a nightmare. Here is some info to refer to so your commute isn’t affected.

Chicago River Bridges

Each bridge lift takes an from 8-12 minutes. This fall, 27 bridges will be lifted in order beginning in the morning at Lake Shore Drive to the Ashland Avenue Bridge on the South Branch.

The Fall 2014 bridge lift schedule is as follows:
-Saturday, September 20th at 9 a.m.
-Wednesday, September 24th at 9:30 a.m.
-Saturday, September 27th at 9:30a.m.
-Wednesday, October 1st at 9:30 a.m.
-Wednesday, October 8th at 9:30 a.m.
-Saturday, October 11th at 9 a.m.
-Wednesday, October 15th at 9:30 a.m.
-Saturday, October 18th at 9 a.m.
-Wednesday, October 22nd at 9:30 a.m.
-Saturday, October 25th at 9 a.m.
-Wednesday, October 29th at 9:30 a.m.
-Saturday, November 1st at 9 a.m.
-Wednesday, November 5th at 9:30 a.m.
-Wednesday, November 12th at 9:30 a.m.
-Saturday, November 15th at 9 a.m.
