Television reporter, radio personality, and multimedia journalist Jen DeSalvo is a Chicagoist (expert on all things Chicago), living in the market since birth and working in the city for over a decade.

Jen is a graduate of Purdue University with Bachelor of Public Relations (Journalism emphasis), and recipient of a Master’s of Science degree in Integrated Marketing Communications specializing in digital media from Roosevelt University.

Her work history includes traffic reporting and anchoring for NBC 5 Chicago, feature story reporting for Nude Hippo, news reporting and anchoring for WGN Radio 720AM, a voice and traffic reporter on the Big John Howell Show on WLS-AM 890, and the co-host of Robert Murphy’s Ride Home on 94.7 WLS-FM.

Jen’s personal accomplishments include fundraising thousands of dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by training and completing multiple marathon and ultramarathon foot races, mentoring and coaching their Team in Training division since 2008.

She is also a coach for girls seven to 11-years-old with the non-profit organization, Girls on the Run, and can be found announcing at the start and finish lines of their annual 5k races.
