News release from IDOT

CHICAGO – The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced that daily lane closures will take place on Illinois 113 from Comet Drive to the Kankakee County Line, in Braidwood, beginning, weather permitting, Monday, September
19. The closures are necessary for a safety improvement project on Illinois 113.

In order to complete the work, daily, intermittent lane closures will take place on Illinois 113 between Comet Drive and the Kankakee County Line. Flaggers will direct traffic through the work zone during daytime hours.
The scope of the project includes guardrail replacement, shoulder repair and installation of rumple strips. The overall project is expected to be completed in Spring 2017.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
