She’s Growing Up So Quickly!

I am about 3 weeks into my garden happenings, and am happy to say that I am already seeing progress!  Much thanks to mother nature that gave the plants some natural lightening and steady rain. After the storms passed, I noticed budding on the pepper plants, flowering on the squash and eggplant, and a baby broccoli!

I have been diligent in adding used coffee and tea grounds as a fertilizer. Early last week, I planted nearly 100 earthworms to take care of the soil around each of the roots.  Every couple of days, I spray my own mixture of natural oils around the perimeter to keep away small animals and other pests.  This weekend, you can see that I added marigolds on the outside edge that faces the forest preserve to help deter deer from snacking.
